If you sell or rent out a property you have to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
Despite being called a certificate it is actually a four page document that tells you how energy efficient your property is and what can be done to improve its rating. If you have an EPC for your property that is less than ten years old you do not have to get a new one unless you want to, for example if you have had a new boiler or replaced single glazing with double glazing and want to see how the efficiency has improved.
